SOCIAL SURVEY RESEARCHER SUPERVISOR
Salary Rate: $20/hour

Engage in a unique summer work opportunity, designing and implementing a survey questionnaire and observational survey in support of the JRA’s ‘Design Your Mainstreet’ (DYMS) initiative, followed by the production of a summary report analyzing feedback, and its conclusions. The DYMS project aims to capture the Junction community’s vision of their neighbourhood, starting with a survey to collect input from all members.
In this role, you will:
Undertake preliminary research to understand purpose (via participant observation, and review of Junction BIA resources)
Design Survey Questionnaire (residents and merchants)
Implement survey questionnaire and observational survey
Create social media content to be used for the promotion of the survey
Supervise research assistant in undertaking survey
Review daily, weekly, and monthly progress
Meet with Project Coordinators, supervisors, and mentors
Analyze survey feedback
Produce summary report
What you bring:
Minimum age of 18 years by start of role
High school diploma or post-secondary education preferred
Ability to travel daily to and within the Junction area
Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
Well-developed interpersonal, and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with staff and community members
Experience with social media content creation
Experience and sensitivity in dealing with members of different cultural and racial backgrounds, including visible and non-visible dimensions of diversity
